Arizona Chickens

Thanks for the welcomes!

TT: I am ROFL about the sardines, but good luck on the hatch! Mine are Phoenix I got from NoSkivees down here, the eggs looked fertile from what I could tell and stored them in a wine cooler to keep the temp up...looking at May 25, but we'll be candling. Can I wait...not... Already looking for more eggs

There really are supposed to be taste differences between different kinds of salt. I picked up some sea salt and some kosher salt. Liked both, but didn't think I saw much difference between them and regular old salt. Next time I needed salt though, neither were available, so I went back to Mortons. NOW I notice the difference, and miss the good stuff.

On that same note, I like the multi-coloured pepper much better than plain black pepper. FWIW, the pink pepper comes from Brazillian Pepper trees--just like the one in my yard

So, Laree, how do you pronounce your name?

Multi-colored pepper are different species, so yes, some are yummier than others. I totally agree.

Dyed food only tastes as different as the different colored M&Ms do.

Morton's salt is different, but I only notice it with the idodized stuff.

the laying hens have to be kept seperate form the baby chicks or the hens will peck
at them when there is a big age difference we lost three chicks last year that the
chickens peck at we usually wait for the chicks to be 4 to 5 months
old before introducing them with the flock
