I am gonna say no. The chicken isn't scary, just curious. I mean, I AM frightened, only because his curiousity is going to lead him to peck my contacts out.

I have a small rabbit hutch that I was hoping to use as an brooder or isolation pen but it has a wire bottom. Opinions? Suggestions?

remember my kid jail? It has a wire bottom.

So I get the boxes from Costo, and put 1 or 2 in there with wood shavings in one, and dirt in the other.

Then they aren't spending all day on the wire, and have dirt to dig/dust bathe in.

ETA: ALSO, if you feed them in a box like that, they wont waste so much chick feed.

Hi everyone!

I'm just popping in to say hello. I haven't been on the forums for a while because our life got a little busy there. Thankfully the school semester is ending so we have a bit more time although I'm taking up a second job (another dog grooming job) for the summer. I hope everyone is doing well! The chickens we bought from you Noskiveez are still doing wonderful. We love them to pieces. All of the chickens are laying now and we have a beautiful assortment of colors in our egg basket

Mine went on shavings right away, with a paper towel under for more traction. Then when they were a week old, I went to just shavings. When I started giving treats, I just took a double handful of playsand and poured it in the corner so they could have it if they want it. Oh, we're growing tortoise mix too and the chickens and chicks love it (so do the tortoises) http://www.carolinapetsupply.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=41&products_id=162 It's great because I can pick some sprouts for the little chicks, and cut parts of the plants off for the bigger chickens and the torts.
