Oooo! I would LOVE some eggs, too!!! Keep us posted if you can find a roo. I will do my best to help you locate one. Maybe one of these local shows have some for sale. I know there is one next weekend in Tucson (not sure, it may have been this weekend

You are going to have us BYCers banging down your door for local Blue Wheaten eggs!!!!

Blckbrn... I believe they molt right before they begin laying. Plus, this time of year is pretty much when chickens molt, so don't be too worried. I'm sure they are fine.

Yes, we have a yard full of feathers. The White Rock roo is losing a lot of feathers, but you can't tell it by looking at him. None of our chickens ever look like they're molting.

Good morning Arizona

Watching old classic flicks again this morning. I love the Turner Classics channel.

Arizona Nessa, The place that rents the coop and flock, Do they have a web address? I would love to see the set up. Where is it located?

Does anyone have some photos of the Blue Wheaton?

I'm not sure if I have ever seen one. I am really getting into the Blue colors.

I am seeing lots of feathers around also, however looking at the chickens, you really can't tell. Some times one of them will have one or two feathers sticking up, then in a day or two the feathers are gone. Most of the feathers seem to be the underneath ones.

Mahalo4, Show us some photos, of that fast coop, please:bow I just love seeing how creative BYC people are. You never know when an idea will work for you.

I am still looking for 2, Lavender or Blue, Bantam Cochin Pullets. Some one has got to have some here in the valley, or up the mountain. I will drive for those little girls:yiipchick:yiipchick

It is getting daylight, got to head outside and do my chores. My girls are calling me and the boys are crowing. Everyone have a great day.

Pati ~ I don't really know if there is a website or anything. The man's name is Jim and I do have his telephone number. I think most of his business is done through the permaculture guild here in Phoenix.

I don't know if any of you know that a friend of our family is gravely ill and has to move out of state to get the treatment he needs. Anyhow he asked me to take his flock and do whatever needed to be done because he can't even walk outside on the porch or anything. We went up and got the birds. The roos never came home with us because we already had a place for them. They had 6-8 inch spurs which I had never seen anything like that in my life and would not allow them near my son because they were not tame Orps at all. Massive birds

Anyhow I just thought I would share the critters that I have decided to make forever pets. These are just like big giant puppies and come when called by name.

My camera and picture taking skills are not the best but I tried. I just wanted to share what I have been so excited about the past couple days.

Vanessa-

I would love to help you out with those beautiful birds, but I think there might be a bit of a fuss from the "Turkeys are for Eating" group in my house. Hmmm. I will ask around. If you saw my post Saturday, you know the neighbor has turkeys

I'll let you know. The little girl down the street is hard-core 4H, so maybe she or her friends would be interested in giving them forever homes.
