I listened to his lungs, they pop when he breathes. :-( There is no where to get antibiotics on Sunday night, is there?
I can get you a new cockerel. Do you keep any VetRX on hand?
Of course you have roos
The awful part is that I have 2 cockerals and probably won't keep both. Even if he is headed for a soup pot, I don't want him to die miserably of IB! Although this one is the one I will most likely keep (Lavender orpington, the other is a blue).
I don't have any VetRX, I really should be more responsible about these things.
Thanks for all the info
constance and for offering to help, you too
pimachickens.
I brought him in and put him in the bathroom. It is warm and draft free, and humid. I gave him a bowl of Emergen-C and a plate of scrambled eggs and plain yogurt. I'm going to wait and see if he eats. He's still standing (although he seems a little wobbly) and I haven't seen any more mucus come out. I might wait and pick antibiotics up early tomorrow. I don't have any vicks
Mahorni - I can't focus! I'm on 4 hours of sleep and I have a crabby 3 year old who just wiped poop on me (at least he's tried to wipe his own butt, that's a step in the right direction). What kind of antibiotics do I need? What else should I be doing?
