aww thank you! you should run into me sometime! I drive a bright red Kia Soul with the license plate "solmama" with a BYC bumper sticker. im hard to miss if youre on the east side! If you read the blog tonight you'll see we are getting DIRT tomorrow! soon to have something else to keep the chickens out of!!

Aha! Now I know who had that car! I saw it parked, did a double take at the bumper sticker, and thought, "Coolness!"

hahah stick around next to the car long enough and you'll see me or my husband dragging two kids into it too!

Feel free to say hi! We need more "farm friends" most of our friends think we are crazy.

We were woken up yesterday morning by the beginings of crowing.

It came from our cukoo marans that is barely 8 weeks old. I didn't know they could start that early. Any how, so all the young ones have been moved out to the "garden jail" till there old enough to fend for themselves. I guess it safe to say so long to the remainder of my garden, not sure what we're going to do with our newly voiced rooster:/

Glad you like them! I think they are gorgeous too... but I think my Icelandic eggs are pretty too.

3 months is pretty young to be a meanie already. I would be thinking of culling. Have you done a search on here?? There are almost as many theories on Roosters as there are BYC'ers.

Congratulations on your new chicks!!

Agreed. I've never seen one mean that young. Try intimidating him with a gentle boot kick but if he continues to be mean I would cull. Very un- banty-cochin-like.

Thanks, yeah I read quite a few things and you are right, sooo many different opinions, I figured 3 months was a little young to be attacking me too!

Haha, a kick to the chest... glad it sorted him out! I did push my roo back with my hand but it just got him even more riled up and he charged, I was suprised at the force. I am going to give him a few months to change his attitude otherwise he will be dinner

You gonna let him beat you up for months???? Show him who's boss now or he may also attack an innocent bystander. Or a child.

My thoughts, exactly. I wouldn't keep him around a few months, if he didn't change in a few days.
