. Welcome! I'm in Scottsdale, too! I got my FBCM from Mahonri, he's here on BYC. I dont know if he has any right now. I'm sure he'll let you know! Have fun here!

Tracy,

I know the Feed Barn up on 23rd and Deer Valley would order a batch of cornish x for you and you just buy how many you want. She would have to order 25, but you don't have to buy that many and Mikey could buy how many he wants and whatever is left, they sell. I think the Western Ranchman on 32nd st and Greenway does the same thing, but they don't bring in chicks again until october, i think. But that could be a way of getting the egglayers you want from a hatchery sooner and not worry about having to order 25 meaties. i would buy some off you, but i'm not quite there yet

Laree has to raise my thanksgiving turkey at her house and i'm not allowed to help process it. she only cleans up kid puke. honestly, i don't know how i made it through culinary school. we had 3 weeks of meat fabrication class and i was covered in blood everyday.

fully admitted WUSS!!!!!! i have the best intentions, i want meaties, i want to kill my own turkey, but i can't even smash a roach. one time i put a clean glass bowl over one because i just couldn't bring myself to kill it and hear the noise. fortunately, the ups man came that day and killed it for me. no laree, i did not give him a lap dance. there are children in the house.

I am terribly torn between “that is so sweet” and “let me list a few methods from noiseless to very loud and see if one works for you” MUAHAHAHA.

I can't squish them either! I can happily feed them to the hens, though.

I was surprised that I could process my roos, especially since they did end up with names

I did shut down emotionally during the event, but overall it went ok. It really helped to have Gallo and Pimachickens helping and keeping the process moving. Now I'm thinking about meaties, too. A turkey would be nice, too.

Tracydr - I can't find those milkweed seeds ANYWHERE! I'm sorry. I didn't forget, I just thought they would show up again, but I give up. I must have either put all of them in the seed box, or thrown them out accidentally. I'll keep my eye out on campus for more, and hopefully there are still some in the box when you get it.
