I remember Wallace and Ladmo very well. I was on it twice, once as a Brownie and once as an Indian Maiden(i have no idea what happened to that club, no it's not PC anymore, not the same as campfire girls, we had a totem pole, a peace pipe and wore these weird outfits with feathers). Anyway, I won a Ladmo bag when i was a brownie and wallace came over to give it to me, asked my name and i forgot what it was. i was 8. surprised i didn't pee my pants.

Boy, it sure would be cool to get a copy of those episodes!

We got rid of cable two years ago to save money. We pay for Netflix and don't miss TV at all. My parents ask all the time if we saw this or that on TV and then remember that we don't have TV. We do enjoy Netflix movies and even get some old tv shows to watch in order, no reruns or commercials! I don't think we'll ever have it again. We realized we weren't really watching it at all, anyway.

their future wives will appreciate it.

X2!

When Tammy & I got married we combined her three and my three. That was 4 teenagers and 2 young'lings. TV was a major source of friction

& sucked up life.

We (she & I - the kiddies were vehemently opposed!) agreed to turn off the idiot box. No cable, no antenna, just a (at the time) VCR to watch movies.
The results were miraculous! Cut way down on the fighting / friction & more social interaction. (BTW - that first year and a half of "blending the familes" was really, really rough!

We (nine years later) still have no broadcast TV or cable in our home. Don't miss it. Although when we go away together (anniversary usually) we turn it on for a a few minutes just to remind ourselves that we are not missing anything.

I am not contemporary with my colleagues - when they ask if I saw a show last night I have to remind them.

It took me several years to figure out why my students would start chanting Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Jer-ry! whenever a classroom fight was brewing.

In my day we had Captain Kangaroo and Romper Room. Mighty Mouse and Felix the Cat. We also had one B&W tv that was quite a bit larger than my uncle's round one that chopped off all the corners of pictures.

After washing, the clothes went on the line in the backard to dry. Your kids will love it, Laree--just make sure they don't drop the clothes in the dirt or use cobbled together "ladders" to reach the line.

Don't forget Mr Rogers and Wallace & Ladmo

My brother got to be on the show and get his Ladmo bag - LOL!

Mr Rogers came later--wasn't around when I was little. And I grew up in Dallas, so we had Slam Bang Theater instead of Wallace and Ladmo. My steps and older son did get some Wallace and Ladmo, though.

We turned off our tv, too. Our kids are 6, 4, 3, 17 mos, and newborn, so we do have a DVD player...mommy needs a break every now and then!

. But honestly, we don't miss the tv. I thought I would, but nope. We have Netflix, a few DVDs for the kids, and its great! Plus, I don't have to listen to those creepy Care Bears!

I don't HAVE TV. I only have Netflix and Hulu--- and Hulu has been suckin' eggs lately.

Where do you think I saw the Carebears?
