In my day we had Captain Kangaroo and Romper Room. Mighty Mouse and Felix the Cat. We also had one B&W tv that was quite a bit larger than my uncle's round one that chopped off all the corners of pictures.
After washing, the clothes went on the line in the backard to dry. Your kids will love it, Laree--just make sure they don't drop the clothes in the dirt or use cobbled together "ladders" to reach the line.
Sounds like my house growing up with b & w tv. We were outside all day playing in "the woods" until mom called us kids in for lunch and dinner. Love hanging clothes on the line. I remember one winter morning,( I grew up on Long Island next to my gma's farm) Mom forgot to bring in the laundry off the line the day prior. Dad's "dungarees" were frozen solid. She had to warm them on the radiator in the kitchen!
