I have been taking a couple of pics. These things grow like crazy. I won't get around to posting until the weekend though...

[professing ignorance] Ummmm aren't the seeds in the pods? [/professing ignorance]

Yes, Mikey, the seeds are in the pods. You have to separate the seeds from the pods. You make flour from just the pods. Is that clear as mud?

I'm putting my VitaMix to good use then. They are pretty trees, but messy. Not invasive tho. I'll plant mine against the West wall. By the neighbors pool.

Carob trees won't produce for about 8-10 years, but after that, you'll have more pods than you know what to do with. And they produce for about 100 years!

Against the wall by the pool it is. I'll feed it lovingly, give it alkaline water from the machine, and train it high and proud.

One of those African Sumacs from Tacydr might not be a bad idea either. I hear those are VERY messy.

Only if they go in THEIR yard. Those things are too messy even for revenge planting.

Definitely the messiest tree in the world! I would SO never wish them on anyone...except Meg's neighbor...

I went over there last weekend. But since they involved the HOA and the HOA's hired gun PMG it got beyond my immediate control in a big hurry. Get to know your neighbors BEFORE there is a problem. But sometimes it just can't be helped. I tried several times to get to know my neighbors, and it's just not that kind of neighborhood. They'll let their kids come over and stay all day, but won't acknowledge a gift of homemade jam and eggs. The complaining neighbors mutter in monosyllables when you try to strike up a conversation and my best neighbor of all had to (got to-it was a GOOD move for her) move away not long after we moved in. We're still friends and now that school is in I'll get to see her more. Yea!

WoW! Any which way I read this... Meg, I did not know you are having to get rid of your neighbors! But he, whatever works!

So maybe after getting rid of them you can get your chickens back...
