I thought that's what it was. I keep thinking about the pictures of the large fruits on the tag.

This kind had a green skin when ripe (which I think would be great at limiting losses to birds) and a wonderfully pale rosey flesh. I had originally planned on an apricot tree, but maybe this might be a good alternative.

ca, yeah, I think it was organic that they were buying.

I've never had a pluot but it sounds awesome! Is its skin smooth like a plum or fuzzy like an apricot? It would be great if the green color does keep the birds off.

Hello everyone.

I have too many roosters. I have a big BR that needs a new home. Also, a "mystery chick" rooster that is "possibly" a Partridge Rock. These boys are loud!

I also have 2 Cuckoo Marans roosters that I would be willing to part with one of. They aren't nearly as loud and they are the "underdogs" of my roosters.

I love my roosters, but I love my husband more ... and he says that he needs to sleep. So...the roosters have to go.

Please let me know if you want to take them in...

Thanks

They are smooth like the plums, a lot of grocery stores carry them but we all know they don't taste as good as home grown.

I don't know if it's a curse or a blessing to know how good home grown food is. I think that's why I've stopped eating as much fruits and veggies - I was raised eating stuff straight from our trees and garden so now that I don't have anywhere to grow fresh produce (yet!) I really don't like the taste of much. I do want to try these though, store bought or not, and it makes me happy that they're smooth because Caj doesn't like fuzzy fruit!

I bet if you put a cup of zeolite (like they sell for aquarium filtration), that it would absorb the smell instead of the incubator. I would change it often the first few days until the smell is gone. If it gets saturated with odor, it won't absorb more. I would guess it works on other smells than ammonia, but not 100% sure.

Sonoran Silkies ... you have a grandbaby

And you didn't even know you were expecting!
My DH put some of Flo's eggs in the incubator because he thought they were Serama eggs. So, introducing our first blue silkie / serama mix chick.

I think they need more camera time so they don't panic when the camera is around.

Schizoskittles, I know how you feel about the homegrown foods. I've become the same way. I hate it when the stores trick me into buying their produce by making it look ripe and good just to get it home to have it taste otherwise. Working on the whole fruit trees thing but I need to find me a grafting expert. Anyone? anyone..... For the record the pluot I tried wasn't very good from the store. Surprise!
