We are just getting back into chickens. Starting to build a place to put them. My kids cant wait they are so excited.

I live in Mesa, wish I lived out in the country but oh well.

The breeds we are interested in are...

Bantams
Cochins (these are my favs)
Japs (maybe)
Frizzles

Standards (because my husband wants lg eggs/he likes to cook) I told him I wasnt going to get just any chicken, and this is what he did

Anyway, I was interested in these ones so far...
Cochins (they are so darn cute no matter what size)
Marans (because of the egg color)
Ameracaunas (because I like them and the egg color)

Anyway, its great to meet others From Arizona that are into chickens

A year late but better than never right? I am reading through these 23 pages, but wanted to say HI! I'm an hour east of Tucson, have around 30 chickens with 34 in the incubator and 30 more eggs coming. Have 2 call ducks with her sitting on about 6 eggs right now. I am just so darn excited for spring. I am looking for pullets, as I have twice as many roos as girls.

Looks like a salt and pepper combo. The roosters were BOs and GLWs. The pullets were GLWs, SLWs, BOs and EEs. There are some very colorful chicks that I would be interested in seeing as adults. If, anybody close by might be interested in a couple of chicks, or more, let me know.

What is BO and GLW? EE? I am trying to get the lingo down here. If you still need homes for your chicks I'm near Benson.

Huny-
xxmrsbellxx got 17 of them from me. I kept 10 for myself. I am planning to set some BO eggs next week for a neighbor. He is not sure how many he wants. I was going to do it tomorrow, but, I got called for jury duty and wasn't smart enough to get out of it. Looks like I'll be in Nogales for a week. I could also through in some GLW eggs, if you are interested.

OH and who are you selling your eggs to? People over in Elgin/Sonoita? We are working up our flock and hoping to offer organic eggs at the Rincon Farmers Market. If not organic (depends on feed prices for organic), at least they will be farm raised free range eggs free of hormones/antibiotics. What do you charge a dozen?

That sounds like fun, (the eggs, not jury duty). Are you selling these chicks, or just doing it for fun? At least you didn't set them and then try and figure out how to turn them while in Nogales!
