Arizona Chickens

Welcome aboard Pommeraniac and Huny!!!

I keep reading about everyone's chicks and I want some now. However, I am trying very hard until after fair to hatch any chicks. I want to be able to keep an eye on them, but we will be at the Pima County fairgrounds for 10 days, from 4/16-4/26/09.

You all need to stop by the fair and check out all the chickens. I am a poultry leader this year, so I know I'll be in the barn several times during the week. It would be nice to meet some fellow BYCers.

Good luck on all your hatches and hopefully, I'll soon be able to post about mine.

I currently have 2 aviaries in the back yard. In one I have cockatiels and button quail and in the other I have finch and button quail.

I just recently got my little silkies and they will be in the bottom of one of the aviaries I just don't know which one.

I am going to try to post some pics here of the aviaries....

The white aviary is the one I just built for inside the house....

Enjoy

Here is my first aviary.

Those are some gorgeous colors. What type of birds are those? I lost all my indoor birds (dove, diamond doves, parakeet) and looking to get something like a cockatiel. I guess I just love all birds.

My indoor aviary has Gouldian finch (those are the bright colored ones) and then there are society finch and the little one in flight is a star finch. Their life span is about 5-6 years and my little star is already 8 y/o. I love birds too!!!

beautiful birds!

Does anyone know where I can get some Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, Brown leghorns, EE's or Americaunas in the Valley? I only want a few of each. Would like full grown or pullets but am open to chicks. Burnt out on hatching eggs right now.

Also, if anyone wants some button quail... I have babies for $10 each.

Here are pics of the parents:

Here are the babies that are forsale... they are litterally the size of bumble bees when they hatch and run around like little chickens.

Hey guys! I'm in Mesa, too. It's great to see so many AZ BYCers now. It's been a while since I've been on here. I got rid of my chickens last year due to dog issues. Those have now been solved and I'm back in the chicken biz! Yay!!! I picked up 5 Brown Leghorn hens yesterday in Casa Grande. They are 8 months old and laying well. I'm excited to have the fresh eggs again. Since they were penned with 3 roos of the same breed, I'm going to try to hatch out some eggs. We'll see how it goes.

Anyway, I just wanted to say "Hi!"

Congrats on the babies!!! You all should have seen the look on my hubby's face when I told him I want to hatch out some eggs from the new girls. He just rolled his eyes. But, he didn't say "NO!" So that's good! HeHe...

I loved the videos and pics!!

I can't wait until after the fair when I can hatch some chicks. I have it all planned out. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a couple of my hens to cooperate and go broody.
