Thank you! I'm going to visit the Grand Canyon for the 1st time in my life tomorrow. I visited here once before in July when I was 5 months pregnant - not the best experience of my life. The weather is much more enjoyable now!!!!

Im done with cubscouts, my son is now in Scouts, my husband is Scout Master. So now its all Dad doing the work instead of me

We love the scouts! My DH is the den leader. I leave all that up to him. He really gets into the pinewood derby and the raingutter regatta. Have you seen the movie, Down and Derby? Reminds me of the dads in our den!! LOL

I was over the cubscouts in my ward for awhile, nice to have a break from all the boy stuff. Now Im dealing with all the girl stuff (Acheivement Days) So went from one extreme to the other, oh well (LOL)​

I've done Scouts in my ward before, too. Fun, but now I'm the HFPE leader... We have our RS dinner tomorrow night and I'm excited to have it behind me. You know, it's not easy being 9 months prego and throwing parties!!!! It will be nice to relax for a bit! Oh yeah... I will have a new born, where's the relaxing in that!!!!!!!

Hello!!! I REALLY want to start keeping a few chickens in my yard. I have the perfect spot for them but am nervous about my HOA. They will need to be somewhat quiet - any suggestions? I'm aldo trying to find out the best coop options... I've been looking on CraigsList for ideas. I can't decide if I want to have my husband build one for me, or buy one that's already made. About a year ago a friend was giving hers away - wish I had thought of this back then!!!

It depends on how strict your HOA is and how nice your neighbors are! We live in an area of Mesa that you aren't allowed to have them, but we have great neighbors that don't mind, plus I also give them free eggs every once in a while! All the chickens I've had have been a little noisy, but only right after they lay an egg. It's almost like they are announcing to the world what they just did! HeHe... Best of luck!

Also, depending on how you are going to design your coop, you could sound-proof the coop with straw. It can't (shouldn't) cut off good air flow, but it could quiet down the sound. Point the opening towards your house so that when noise escapes it is pointed at you and not a neighbor. Do not get a rooster -- our boys were so loud we had to give them away.
