Arizona Chickens

May I suggest taking gas to the complainers yard and making a pretty design? You don't have to light it, it will kill the grass anyways and then you could complain that they need to grow better grass? Ha Ha. Oh the high school memories are coming back.

I am on my way back from Palm Springs, and I have the laptop plugged into the truck for power, and into the DH's phone for internet, traveling 77 miles an hour in the rain, onilne so I can get updates of:

ChickenAlgaebra's twins (2 boys, 7 lbs each)
Debiraymond's 2 grandbabies be born on the same day
Dar's battles (want me to report them? it's online and anonymous!)
McFly's righteous anger

I'm with you. Meg is way too nice. I'm not a "turn the other cheek kinda guy. I'm more of the "never again!" school of thought.

Meg, don't stop being you!

I am NOT doing a "turn the other cheek". I am going to the board meeting and protesting and arguing and researching my rights. I can find NOTHING in the CC&R's nor the published by-laws which prohibits chickens, nor the number of chickens one may keep. PMG overstepped their bounds and unless someone on the board reins them in I will take further action. Now I have to go see about planting that dead spot in my front yard where grass refuses to grow, as I have received another letter saying that I must both mow and grow better grass. Or be fined on the 15th. They are definitely poking the dragon.

You know that if the neighbor's dog was interested in your dog instead of your chickens he would have no basis for complaint. If chickens are "legal" pets in your neighborhood then the other neighbor's dog's interest in your yard is his problem, not yours.

ETA: Maybe you should take pictures of other dogs getting along with chickens so you can show it's that dog's problem, not universal. I can send you a picture of my terriers with the chickens if you want.

I'm really sorry you're going through this. Yet another reason I'm antsy to move out to the country. Preferably a cooler state while I'm at it. Ok has dropped down to the 60's! Their back at the top of my list. Their counties generally have no zoning laws. I didn't even need a permit to build my house and barn when I lived 5 miles outside of Lawton! It was so nice! Live and let live!
You could have all the roosters, peacocks, guineas, I had a neighbor with a camel!

I have Moringa Seeds saved for Sonoran Silkies, Gallo, and Bobs Henhouse. Anybody else?
I also have the seed box, who's next? Ready to pass on.
