Oh, yes. This winter, grapefruit canning! I really want a batch of pretty, ruby red grapefruit sections in cans!
Really, I'm sooo hard to make angry. You can't believe what it takes to push me over the edge.

Well, sometimes I get a little crabby, especially when my patients are I'll-mannered, disrespectful homies from South Phoenix and I won't do what they tell me to do.

Oh, forget to tell everyone what happened last night at agility class in Chandler. We have class at Pomeroy Elementary School. Some teenagers were "playing" in the park and got into a fight. They beat the living daylights out of this young teenager, the smallest one in the group. One of our instructors called for an ambulance and police. Somebody asked if there were any attack dogs in the group.of course, everyone looks at my Doberman, who is on full alert. I'm like, uh, no.
My Doberman was not letting those boys come over that fence and close to me. No way! She didn't say anything but she was as tense as a rock. Good girl!

We went back to doing agility and she acted like nothing happened. She's such a good kid.

My FIL also has a ruby red tree. I'll ask him how is crop is this year. Can I invite myself to "Canning at Tracy's"? I'd love to see how it's done.

Ticks: Neem oil they hate. Put a tablespoon in with your favorite doggie shampoo (My doggie shampoo is homemade cold process soap) and wash away. Neem will also take care of fleas and head lice. You can use it as a completely safe and organic pesticide spray in your garden (takes care of those things that suck on poms and tomatoes too).

It smells bad, but it works great and the smell goes away. Google...I get mine from www.neemresource.com

I make a batch of goats milk neem soap (10% neem) and use that whenever we get a lice notice from school and never had lice. Which reminds me, we're out of neem soap. Sigh. My to-do list reaches to Florida.

Maybe I need some Neem seeds.

So, ever since we've had chickens laying I've been eating FAR more than the recommended amount of eggs. For the past 16 months I've eaten one to two eggs (usually two) per breakfast about 5 days a week. I've been very interested in what that was going to do to my cholesterol levels. This morning I found out: HDL: 41 (should be 60 or greater*), LDL: 93 (less than 100 is best*), Triglycerides: 54 (less than 200 is desirable*), Total: 145 (less than 200 is desirable*). The numbers look pretty good for a middle-aged guy, but I have to admit that they have shifted somewhat in the wrong directions over the past couple years. Overall, it's much better than I thought it would be. Good thing too, I love my eggs! Just thought I'd share that with my fellow egg-eaters.

When you're my age you'll be venerable too.
Hey congrats on your first Moringa seedling!

I think we'll have a great time canning this winter. I don't have a big kitchen. Perhaps somebody else's kitchen and I'll bring lots of stuff? Will need a gas stove. If not, we can make room in mine. This is going to be fun! I've never canned with other people!
I'm planning on starting sauerkraut and kimchee this week. I freeze mine so as not to kill off all the good cultures and to keep it crunchy. I also want to see what fruit is on sale. My husband has just about cleaned the pantry of canned pears.
