Okay, so conditions were better? That's good. I liked the setup of the old location, but there were huge problems with neighboring tenants. A lot worse than the conditions that concern you.

yes, it was better than i had seen it in quite some time truthfully. but still, i can't get over the ill appearing birds that were there. it's my reason as to why i stopped purchasing chicks months and months ago. they are either hatched or mail ordered now.
and i too, preferred the other location. they had more space. what was the issue with the other tennants or are you sworn to secrecy

Check her crop in the morning to see if it's empty. Check for mites and lice. Watch the poop, could be worms, you often don't see worms in the poop.

An impacted crop is very, very HARD; feels like a baseball. A full crop feels like a softball, and will mepty overnight. A mushy crop may indicate sour crop, which could be any of several digestive problems, starting with thrush and ending with just about anything anywhere in the digestive system.

Trim well. My wing clip on my Banties didn't work so well. Although nobody has been on the front porch since I did it.

I once had to trim both wings, trimming the one still allowed them to get over the fence. Two wings = no lift, it worked long enough to let them learn that the boxer mix wasn't their friend.

Kids got the coop primed tonight. Took them 4 hours! Yikes!
Hopefully get the paint on tomorrow sometime, have to do a metal run for the HS & then have a guy coming over to work on the bulldozer at noon. Hopefully get to work on the coop in the afternoon / evening. Walter's birthday on Thursday so I can't really ask him to do much then.

On a similar note...The control tower kicked the peepers out of the bathroom today. It had to be used to give the grandbabies a bath?!? What the heck?
The peepers are sitting in their tote with the lid on in the middle of the living room stinking up the place.
They are getting moved outside tomorrow; paint or no.

So about that heat lamp?

Any suggestions?

Are they smart enough to NOT burn themselves if it is too close?

Thanks for the suggestions on our BO (Oompa). Her sister, Loompa is no more unfortuately. We gave her some olive oil tonight, and did a crop/chicken massage. I would say her crop is about golf ball size and doughy/mush, although there is no odor. Still white poops...

Didn't see any mites...checked around the vent, under wings, base of tail, etc. I will see if I can spot anything in her poop, but haven't seen much 'substance' since it's mostly white. I also don't feel an egg like she's eggbound.....

thanks again folks for your help...I'll let you know how she does...

Just read a good article from a vet on being egg bound. Apparently, antibiotics are very important. If you feel around inside and try to lubricate, use KY, not oil.

Are you rethinking the non medicated feed?
