My 13 year old girl was squeamish at first with the mealworms but now she just picks them up, no problem. It's way too much fun to feed them to the chickies. She didn't want to be left out.
She's the same one that screamed and flipped out when a beetle fell out of a tree and landed on her today.

From the "well this just sucks" department...
I think I mentioned we had 3 Javalina causing problems at our property for a few months remember? Anyway last nigh one of our neighbors heard something trying to get in his door, opened it and was mauled by one of them. Called cops and paramedics (one block away) and they showed up and shot the one that attacked him as it was still rampaging.
They got Jim to the hospital and he will be OK they think, but the dead pig was rabid so he needs rabies treatment. Likely the others are rabid as well and will need to be killed....
Not good having rabies in the area....

That is just terrible. Javalinas are dangerous enough when they're not rabid. I hope they can find all the infected ones.

Pre-rabies. She's at school in the vet tech program, so she's getting the pre-exposure shots in case she gets bit sometime down the road. Nothing to worry about. Plus, if she bites anyone, they should be fine.
