Arizona Chickens

i think that Garlic Jalapeno Mustard sounds tasty! I don't know what you're talking about in reference to egg eating chickens, though...

Yes, you pretty much "set their table" to peck into the dosed egg, and hopefully they decide to leave future eggs alone. I've used everything from red hot pepper sauce to cephalexin blown into hollow eggs for the most stubborn egg eaters.. Not fun.

What is cephalexin . . . I googled it and came up with antibioitc....?

Yes, and it tastes very bitter. I had a few die-hard egg-eater pheasant hens a few years ago

I went to the Tucson show, it was fun but a long drive.

Well I am up already this morning....got the phone call that school is delayed 2 hours as of right now, it is still snowing and it looks like 4+ inches of snow at my house. I am waiting for it to get light out to check on everyone.

Have a safe day everyone..

Yes, it rained really hard. Found out my coop leaks yesterday, so tore of the roof and put a make shift one up. Leaks a little now but not as bad.

Of coarse, their coop is a very old old old old old old old old probably here since the house was built funky playhouse.

Now my husband said that he will have to build me a new coop now, since I tore the roof off

Good morning everyone,

I know this is not exactly the appropriate forum for this, but my husband is leaving Saturday afternoon to go to Haiti with an organization called Children of the Nations. There is an extensive list of items that are needed, and if you're at all able or willing to help out, please email me and I will send you a list of needs.

Thanks!

Brittney

NIPPLE WATERER: How far apart did you put the nipples?

WAX to PLUCK (during processing): https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=6962-Waxing_chickens
(Found
this today in searching for the waterer design)

ChrystalGail: Has anyone heard from Chrystal? We haven't heard from her in awhile.

SNOW: Do be safe up North. As for me, since we had sun yesterday I am not too grumpy over the rain yet. However, my chickens are WET!

MOHONRI: Are you feeling any better yet?

HAITI: Thanks for the info.

SHOWS: I went to the fair in Phoenix and looked at the birds. Thank you to whomever it was that posted info here. That is what got me there. It was sad to see the chickens in cages though. Also, no black australorps. It was fun to see the many kinds of chickens. What do you enjoy about shows? Is there more than just looking at chickens and other birds in cages

Happy Thursday to all!

Chrystal is good. I talk to her via the phone 2x a week, and over email every other day. Her internet is TERRIBLE, so she is doing all her electronic communication via her phone. She is still having bobcat issues: the female that moved into the nursurey behind her house has 3 kits (at least) and no one at the nursery or of authority is inclined to do anything about it. She says it is solving her extra roo problem though... She got a new horse, so that is probably taking up whatever kid-free time she has.
