One winter were went something like 2 months without the temperature ever getting above freezing, and most of that time the highs were in the teens. New snow is pretty, but old snow is just nasty (especially along the side of streets). One night I was on my way home from working the late shift (shift ended at midnight) and my car ran out of gas at the end of the Offutt runway. About a mile from the closest building. That was not fun. and it was LONG, LONG before cell phones were invented.
So wow SS you are also from Omaha, Ne. Lived their all my life from 1 years old to 1995 when my hubby and I moved to Glendale, AZ.

Oh they are lovely. Good job.
Some of my leaves were spotted at first, but have not had that problem with subsequent growth. The spotted leaves are still there, just spotted. Anyone else?
Thanks! They are growing well and the newer growth on top is unaffected, so I guess I will try not to worry about it too much. I am going to take count of the leaves that are affected, though, and see if it was a transient problem that resolved, or if it is spreading.
Arizona Poultry Organization Fun Show tomorrow! Hope to see you here! I'm too busy today to read the forum or answer, but if you need directions call me, or check the directions on facebook under "Arizona Poultry Organization."
ugh, one of my EE hens decided to go for a swim today
fortunately, i was sitting in the playroom that overlooks the pool and just happened to look out and saw her flapping around trying to get out. by the time i got out there and unlocked the gate, she was floating like a duck. didn't know they did that
but i scooped her out, put her in a cage in the laundry room with a heat lamp. this is the THIRD chicken that has gotten into the pool, only the second that has been saved
Does anyone have a hard cat or small dog carrier that they would be willing to lend or sell for cheap? I'm in West Mesa. I took in a pregnant stray, and now she and the kittens are old enough to get fixed, but they each have to have their own carrier.
