Arizona Chickens

Sorry. I didn't mean to come down on you. It just seemed like in your first post it wasn't clear that he was agressive and I've seen so many folks on BYC misunderstand the dangers of mean roosters, just because they start as their cute adorable chick. Seems like every agressive rooster post starts off with how their rooster was the sweetest chick ever. There are a lot of good, mature Roos out there but the mean ones, I'm not so convinced they ever become reliable.

I have one of her hatch mates/ & Boston has two or three of them. None of them look like Petra's girl and mine has been laying LARGE, very DARK eggs for a full month now.

Makes me sad to know she is suffering... If I didn't have FULL schedules every day this week I'd be driving to Scottsdale to help... and so Petra... we'll all be praying and hoping for you that you can help her get it resolved.

Hey everyone, just wanted to give you all a heads up. If any of you live around the surprise area and go to pratts pets in el mirage dont buy any birds unless you look them over really well. My BiL got a frizzled cochin from them yesterday and he is covered in mites and has scaly legs. They also said he was 6 months but is molting atm so hes got to be older that that. Just want to warn you all so this doesn't happen to you all.

*ETA this pro little roo is in horrible shape. I feel so bad for him.

Hi guys, anyone know of a place to get pallets in Phoenix for free or cheap? I feel like I see them everywhere when I don't need them, but now that I could use 3 or 4, they've vanished. TY TY

I agree not a good place to buy chickens... At least they have cleaned up the back room a little.

Dale's Town and Country on Waddell (between Reems and Litchfield) may be a better choice and that is where I get my feed and supplies and they do have chicks. When we get hatchery chicks we go to a small feed store in Wickenburg.

It's official - that silly bird crowed! I was standing outside the coop & heard it directly.

Unfortunately I was behind a panel so did not get to see - but it was him!

BTW - that roo is the most cowardly chicken of the lot!

My first crowing chicken!

I know that when I have sold birds to their Glendale store they have always looked them over thoroughly for mites/lice. THey have never turned down any except for age (too young), but I also thoroughly look them over before loading them up.

I do have a bunch of extras that I need to sell; mostly mixed breed, all PQ.
