Arizona Chickens

Caught some of my birds EATING MY LEGHORN'S EGG! YIKES! I was wondering why production had dropped off... Now I have to figure out who is truly doing the eating and then , sadly, cull them

Anyone interested in a nice pair of young Runner duck? Guess ducks as cute as they are are not my "cup of tea" so to speak. The black one is drake and the grey one is hen. They are around 10 weeks old I think.

Yeah, because you have rooster status and they are "getting ready". I like to pat them on the back when they squat so they aren't disappointed.

I feel uncomfortable now...

SherrieT What kind of Marans are you hatching?? My cuckoo marans are the Drama Queens of the flock. When one of them lays an egg the whole world knows about it!! Just before Thanksgiving I hatched out 10 French Wheatens and can't wait to see if they have the same personalities as the cuckoos.

Mikey Thanks for the feed storage offer. I should be good. Scott said up to 24 hours is fine and I will pick it up 3 or 4 hours after the truck comes.....so all is cool. But if you want to shake Mrs. Mikey up, you can tell her I ordered 20 bags and only need you to store it for a couple of weeks.

Actually I am only getting 200lbs. So if anyone in my neck of the woods (Wittman, Morristown, Wickenburg, Congress....etc) would like to try a few bags, there will be plenty of room and I can drop it off to you on my way home. Here is a link for more info http://www.facebook.com/BackyardChickenFarmersUnite This permaculture group plans on ordering every other month. It's organic feed that is milled and bagged in Montana. Then loaded in a truck and delivered here. Can't get much fresher feed than that. I sure hope it goes well and my chickens like it. The more they order the lower the price will get. Price is already less than $20 a 50lb bag.

Gardeners The seed box is still in my possession. Tons of really cool stuff inside. Who needs it next?? Monday I have errands to run in the Prescott area. Middle of next week I will be in Phoenix. Someone shout mine and we can figure out when and where to meet.

BTW... two of the four FBCM chicks that hatched are going to be huge beautiful roos.

Boston would have first dibs, (came from his eggs) but if anyone else wants them, let me know.

Speaking of FBCM roos, this one has gotta go! I hate to see him go, he is big and colorful but loud. It's just after 6 and still pitch black in the coop but he feels the need to sound off any way.
