Yes - BULK FEED!!!

The Gentleman doing all the work is Scott Brown. He will accept a mailed check or Paypal. If you use Paypal, be sure to click the sender accepts merchant fees button so he doesn't get charged the fee. I am reluctant to post someone else's physical address so please get in contact with him using one of the links below if you want to mail him a check.

This is the online order form in a Google Docs format:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGNnWk9kQWNjaUxkaGVxSDJ4SUFSRUE6MQ

He has a Facebook page set up:

And a Valley Permaculture Alliance thread:

I've ordered 100 lbs of layer and 100 lbs of layer chick starter (I hope!) the more that's ordered the lower the price (I think) - Last time was I think 4000 or 5000 lbs.

If you cannot get there to pick up your order on that day (24 hr window of opportunity), let me know & I'll get it and hold it for you.

Sorry about the cumbersome links but I've not figured out how to put my own text in the link box yet.

Happy ordering!

My coop now smells beautiful!

12 cu ft of pine shaving will do that..

How do the chickens like it? The first time I put new shavings in with the little ones they all tried to get up on one brick to avoid stepping in the shavings.
The funny thing is, they were already on shavings, these were just shiny and new and apparently scary!

Well I was figur'n they love it. When I put more in when they were younger they loved romping through it.

I herded them into the coop just now (to see what they would do after you asked) and they are skeerd of it!

I'm sure they'll get use to it pretty soon, that and they are ****** at me for putting them back in the middle of the day!

I haven't had a garden for a couple of years because it was overgrown with bermuda.
We finally took care of the grass, tilled in some composted chicken poop/shavings and my daughter and I planted seeds today.
The leghorns kept coming in the whole time we were planting! I've never had a problem with the heavier breeds getting over the fence, but the leghorns are going to be a problem!
They come over at the gate because they can perch on it so I'm going to try extending the gate with chicken wire.

As previously mentioned they must have SHADE at any time of day available to them. SHADE is the biggest key next to WATER. Also from experience try and keep them away from the block walls they have in the valley as these will radiate heat all day and night making it even hotter than the air temp. I think an open air coop is sufficient in most places of the desert. Your can see a couple of my designs or ask just about anyone on here for additional tips for desert chickens.

Best of wishes.

Well look at that. They must have a censor app on this new forum.

I used a colloquialism for "very upset" and they asterisked the heck out of it!
