OK Peepers!

This is an official notification that the economic recession and bad chicken juju are OVER!

It is peeper central at Mikey's house. Ideal did screw up and did not send males for warmth, just made a circular nest out of the bedding material. And while there were two chickies trapped between the nesting material and the cardboard box, and one was half alive, my dad picked up the chicks, bought a bunch of supplies (while I was at school), fixed up the brooder and saved it's life!



Also...

One Dot did it again! That's egg #4 - 3 eggs in 3 days! Boy I'm sure glad we didn't eat her!

And as a side bonus, I've got the cutest Welsummer on the planet!



And of course I'll mention that my mom took first place in the master's division at the AZ gourd festival!

never fear, remember my dark brahma that hatched last february????? she just laid for the first time i think yesterday. is that a record? i swear i don't know why i insist on keeping dark brahmas, except they are pretty but like silkies constantly broody. i have one sitting on silkie eggs right now while i have the new bator filled with quail i have now idea what i'll do with.

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I secretly want one of my girls to go broody, its the only way I'll raise those cute litte fuzzy butts. BTW, my husband likes quail

Correct, no packing peanuts. Amy the gal I've been dealing with (Amy) said she would ship them again and pack them personally. I told her to wait until Monday & see how the weekend goes...

mikey- i cant believe that they made it if they didn't have much to keep them warm. I could see may april, but not Jan/Feb. Keep me posted. I told my husband your comment about on $450 per egg and he thought it was hillarious. he think that with all the feed we are buying we should crap the chickens and get a cow. I don't eat meat so I don't see it happening.
