Arizona Chickens

Be careful about picking weeds just anywhere. They could be sprayed or growing in contaminated soil.
I use to not want weeds in my yard, now i can't grow enough for my tortoises because the chickens eat them all. I have to resort to asking friends for their weeds. They use to look at me weird but now they expect my weird requests each spring for weeds and mulberry leaves.

Me too! And horse manure for my worms!

WAHOO!

Ok, it happened!

The coops not done but it's coming along great. Chicks move in (out of my living room) once the run is started. They are 5 weeks old tomorrow and need to move out. They'll start out with a small 4x4 foot run with 4x8 feet under the coop and new 4x4 foot sections will be added every weekend until the desired size.

On a not so good note, I had someone stop short on me in the middle of an intersection and I rear ended her. She's an elderly lady (82 yrs old), went through green light but when light rain tooted their horn she slammed on her brakes. She said the train startled her. UGGG. No body was injuryed. I am pretty shook up but not hurt. Neither her or her husband were hurt. Neither of our airbags went off. The ironic thing is that the woman was driving a Mercedes and the closest body shop to my work is Mercedes Benz body shop and since I had a punctured radiator I had to leave it there. The good thing is neither of us were cited.

Pictures of coop as of tonight.

These pictures just don't do them justice. They are such a pretty blue!

Your coop is great!! very cute.
Glad no one was hurt in the accident.

You are right, Petra... they look a bit washed out.

But you can't beat those purebreds and they came out of hens hatched from Peachick with Geoffrey as the daddy.... too bad you don't have one of Geoffrey's boys over those girls.
