I wanted to buy a turkey also and the 3 I saw I was told was not for sale. Wouldn't have wanted them anyway.
It was so much fun yesterday and loved meeting you all.
My poor old Sage has died. She was the Silky I said was blind. She had been eating some but noticed last night her slowing down more. Guess it was her time. I loved my sweet old Sage.
This is her in her younger days sitting her first eggs. She was also a awsome nannybird.
Put the chickies out in the tractor today. First day in the great outdoors.
I left the brooder with the feeder & waterer for them for a security blanket.
The new silkie/cochin's fit right in and made themselves at home. The big girls came over to see what all the hub-bub was about.
And yes I'm silly and put a heat lamp out there just in case... Fun day for the chickies!

How about naming her Barbie or Pavlova?I went today to pick up my Easter Egger and told the lady that if she gets any Australorps to give me a call. She say "If you want a chick, I have some Black Australorps that are 3 weeks old". I thought to myself "OMG...She didn't just say that. I am going to be in trouble." So I left with one laying hen and one chick. Final total of birds = 9. Now to figure out a name for her. Suggestions welcome. Chicken dishes is my flock name 'theme'
2 Ideal 236's (Chow Mein and Fried Rice) Asian Food
2 Plymouth Barred Rock (Enchilada and Taco) Mexican Food
1 Rhode Island Red (Nugget) American Food
1 Sexlink (Fingers) American Food
2 Easter Eggers (Parmesan and Cacciatore) Italian Food
1 Black Australorp ???????????? Some other regional food
So getting home with Cacciatore, I let her out in the run. She quickly found the 5 week olds, or I should say they quickly found her. Enchilada, who is the top of the pecking order, of the Five 5 week olds, was quick to start pecking at the laying hen as if to let her know she queen of this coop. Cacciatore had no reaction at all. It'll be interesting to see what happens here. Cacciatore is about 8 months old so it's kind of funny to see a 5 week old chick show the almost adult hen who's the boss here.
