Yes, you do. I so want to make an effective website to post family history documents to. I started in google, but am not all that happy with how it all came out. One cousin assures me blogs are easy, another promotes groups in facebook. I want a site that is open to the public that any and all cousins can find and download high quaility pictures and scanned family books. Ok...that is my off topic moaning. Needless to say, I am very impressed with your site (and that of sommer and sock too). Yours is new so I know you just did it and I am amazed. I may have to give it a try. I also need to research file sharing options.

I dig the little forum doodad. Now I know how Nifty feels: ALL POWERFUL!

I only played around with the "free" options, but it looks like I had a lot of control. I could hide & share photo books, allow open registration, or require an "ok" from me. I registered on google, AND it has an app to tell me how many people are on, what they look at, and where in the US they are from (a map). So far, only you all have looked at it.

My goal is to spread the love of the Aloha Chicken.

Got tired of just hating my HOA and decided to do something about my anti-social, un-friendly neighborhood. So I started a Facebook page and had the HOA email people to tell them about it. Then I planned a picnic, then I befriended a couple people who had joined the neighborhood group. Here's where I went wrong...

I forgot that I had my blog site posted on my FB page. The blog with all my chicken pics in the backyard that I'm not supposed to have chickens in.

Then I panicked...

Me: "All these people saw my blog!! They're going to know that I have chickens and I'm going to get in trouble and have to get rid of them!"

DH: "Well that's what you get for trying to do something nice for people - it bites you in the butt."

Me: "CRAP!"


So over the course of 24 hours, I've received half a dozen messages saying that they saw my blog, and "are those YOUR chickens?!?"

Then I panicked again...

Hesitant and bracing myself got the worst, I responded that yes, they are mine.


Then they all started asking if I sell them!! I have 6 people in my neighborhood wanting to buy fresh eggs but now here is the new problem... I don't have any layers! I have 2 that are within a month of laying, but the rest are only 2 months old.

I scoured CL last night and no one has responded yet, but I NEED LAYERS! Does anyone have a surplus of hens?

I just went to look at my Rhode Island and now Im pretty sure my pullet is a cockerel! Ugh. So with that Ill have 1 pullet total.
Most likely 4 would be nice number but who knows if they might be cockerels too. 6 is a fine number too.
Isn't it true some chicks will not make it threw delivery?

EDIT: I'm also looking for Silkies too.

There is a chance you could lose a couple chicks or end up with a couple roos, so ordering a few extras is probably a good idea. It's usually pretty easy to rehome the extras on craigslist.
