Arizona Chickens

I ordered mine off ebay too from erniesarracenia and am hoping they turn out to be good ones. Should be here within the next couple of weeks. Can't wait to get rid of the poopy water that I have to change 2x a day.

The seller was Richard7148 They are the ND-R1 screw in 2 piece nipples. They work great and don't leak. I finally saw all my chicks use them so just pulled my other water sources away this morning. No more poopy smelly water for me

What was the breed that you picked up at the show. I had never heard of them before and now I can't remember.
They are called Basque, supposedly a breed from France that lay a decent size and # of eggs.I googled it and I guess there are different colors, if so I have no idea what color these are considered. Just an update on the hatch: out of 19 eggs in lockdown 7have hatched, 1 is zipping, 5 with pips, and 3 just chillaxing. We've never had this much success before, thanks for all the tips from chooks-chick and people on the wonderful AZ forum!!!

HOLY MOSES...I just checked the shipping status and they must be in my mailbox. Waterer scheduled for build. ETA...This weekend...Yippy!!! I might have to make this one myself. DH is kinda tired of the whole chicken thing. I think I'll give him a break.

Hi,

This is a longshot, but am posting just in case. I am near Sacramento, CA and need to have a small animal transported to Tucson, AZ.
If any of you are traveling that way or know of anyone, send me a message for more details.
Thanks!
Kim

Is there anyone in AZ that has nice tufted Araucanas? Gosh, it's been so hard trying to find someone within a days drive!

Duh ! I just checked the Araucana Club breeders page. There just may be a couple!
Double Duh. It was the Ameraucana breeders list. ACKKKKK

Let the girls out of the run today to do a little weeding and roaming. My laying hen decided to lay her egg while they were out. She laid it right in the middle of the yard. It was cracked either from the dog kicking it or landing on the hard surface when she laid it. Crazy girl. She didn't lay yesterday, so we are on egg three day 5. The 6 of them seemed to have a good time roaming the yard and looking at what they could get into as well as pooping all over.
