Arizona Chickens

I went back to Ace Hardware yesterday just to look at all the chicks. They said they were completely out of EEs. I looked, and low and behold, there was one left! So I grabbed it and said, I would like this one please (someone else was eyeballing it). So, yet another chick is added to the mix. I told my husband about it, he just shook his head. But I got him an Anna apple tree for him from Home Depot for 20.00 so that made him happy enough to not care about yet another chick, LOL!

I need a vet that knows chickens. Our rooster needs to be seen. He is not completing a crow, is making a kind of twisting motion with his neck, is sort of stuffy sounding. He is behaving normally other than that, just as active, eating fine, etc.

This isn't something I want to attempt to treat myself because I don't want to lose this rooster, lots invested in this guy and we just love him.

Do any of you have a vet you would recommend? I'm in Desert Hills (far north central Phoenix), but would drive to wherever to see just the right vet.

Thank you.

mama hen chris has a vet that she uses. hopefully she will be on soon and get you some info

I really like Dr. Todd Driggers, but he is in Gilbert. He sees my parrot, my chickens and my tortoises :)

Novaliegh BE CAREFUL!!!

Or this will happen:

There's 19 peepers in there!!!

How the heck did I get so many chickens?!?!?!

I put the 4 week olds in the tractor today - they seemed fairly stunned

The 6 week olds have been in the temp. grow out pen & I tossed them in with the yung'uns.

Every one seems to be getting along well.

But there's 19 peepers in there!

Darn you chicken math!

Remember this?: "Honey, I would just like 6 chickens for the grandchildren and some eggs."

How did I wind up with

TWENTY SIX CHICKENS !?!

(But I Luvs ma peepers!)
