if this hatch i have going right now fairs well, i would incubate them for you. but, i am taking the brownies camping the weekend after easter and by the time these pop out and those go in, it would be cutting it close for me leaving. i would be happy to do it for you when i get back. let me know if that would work. i am in north phoenix.

Oh thank you! Here's the deal, I'm picking up some hens tomorrow who are currently with roosters. So they will be laying fertile eggs for a couple of weeks. What type of incubator do you have? I just might end up getting one of my own...I'd like your input, since youre an expert! ;)

Want to share some pictures of my buff chicks Sassafrase + ButterCup that are now 19 weeks old. One picture you will see my black silky Tulip. The other big Rooster is Hawk Eye, we named, after he turned out to be a rooster and not a hen. Was suppoised to be a auorconus said the feed store. So you Wise ones is he a EE roo or what? If he was bred to any of the hens would a hen chick of his lay green eggs?

Doesn't look like an araucana....they are rumpless, with spikey feather tuffs poking out by their ears. Could be a pet quality Ameraucana (pea comb looks a little off ) or an Easter Egger. On my screen he has bright blue legs?? do they look like that in real life....or are they green tinged??

Anyway He is beautiful!! Yes, chances are he has the blue egg gene.....they say it is usually paired with pea comb gene. If you breed him to a chocolate egg layer (like your little wheaten Marans) you could get an Olive Egger. If you breed him to a regular brown egg layer, you should get a lighter green egg layer and if you breed him to a white egg layer you could get either a blue or green egg. Just depends on if his parents were from blue or green egg. Some of the nicest blue eggs I have ever seen came from EEs.

Fuzzy- just want to add that I am not an expert. Maybe Mahonri will pop on and give a much more educated opinion. Or you could post the pic on the Ameraucana thread and you will probably get tons of responses.

Bootsie I was mistaken. I was told he was a Americauna and he was a she most likely. Well he is greatly georgous! I will breed him with one of the marans for sure. We also have a Buff Orpinton he has already jumped on! Seams a little early for he is about 20 weeks old. But he is crowing! Maybe I should try to hatch one of Buffy's eggs for Denise? I will check his leg color tomorrow. I think the picture is true to color.

I would throw some in the incubator!!

Nova and Kev: I'll be processing chickens sometime this week, if you guys are interested in coming over, PM me with your phone number, and I'll call you with directions and when it is. We'll be butchering about 8 or 9 birds, so come ready to pluck. If you can't make it, I'll be butchering again in a couple of months, once the roos I'm getting from Mahonri are big enough.

Mikey: That sounds more than fair! Call or PM me when you know when you'll have the roos.
