Thanks Kev!

I've gots to go look up symptoms and cures for a hen of mine. She is constantly well "whistling almost" each time she breathes. I can stand outside of the coop and hear her inside. Not good.

Great. I looked for about an hour but so many posts. Anyone have any ideas? I didn't catch it till right before they went to bed so the only thing I noticed was the weird breathing with an occasional sneeze. Didn't seem lathargic just kinda bored or lost. She ate and drank fine, no funny smells or extras of any kind.

Kev,

Isolate that bird away from the others POST HASTE!

She could have Infectious Bronchitis and you could lose half your flock.

Put her on antibiotics and watch her!

mikey, hope you had a great bday! i will have a few little presents for you in a few days (hopefully). you share the same day with my aunt, but she is WAY older than you. don't tell her i said that.

it sounds like there are an awful lot of "things" hitting random yards as of late. sounds like it may be a good weekend for me to vaccinate for IB and fowl pox. does anyone else have a crazy amount of mosquitos in their yard? every year around this time they hit and seem to stay until winter. i don't have irrigation or a dirty pool, so i don't get it.

Mosquitoes breed in any amount of standing water; not just in your yard, but also in nearby yards. And in taller or denser vegetation, which may or may not be weeds.

It seems early for mosquitoes to me, but I have been seeing them, too

I know mites have been out in force, and they spread illness, too.
