Pastrymama, I had a lot of mosquitos here when I moved in a couple of years go.. I put in bat houses, (4), and now have almost no mosquitos at all.. It takes a while for the bats to find the home, but they will eventually.. They go south in the winter, but return with the warmer weather.. They also take care of a lot of moths that fly around at night.. They are not cheap to buy, but easy to make.. Will

bats. ok. my first thought is "are you bat s*** crazy?" i live in a cul-de-sac with lots of kids and firemen and pediatric nurses. i think of bats flying around and kids and dogs getting bit and now we have rabies. i am not trying to rain on your help, it's just what first popped into my brain. to the google!

mikey, hope you had a great bday! i will have a few little presents for you in a few days (hopefully). you share the same day with my aunt, but she is WAY older than you. don't tell her i said that.

Thanks Pastry.

I put princess back with the rest of the flock.

I'm really leaning towards Blinky having foreign matter in here eye that will not come out. She does not seem to be getting any better and no one else is coming down with anything. I've still got the packing peanut in with her just in case.

Anyone have any thoughts about using a (low) pressurized saline eye wash to rinse her eye out? Maybe a STF bottle with a narrow squirter thingie?

I'm sure she would definitely not appreciate it but I've been nursing her four times a day for 10 days now & it's not helping.

Math test is done. I'm sure I did not pass - I'm treating it like a pilot test, I'll know what I need to bone up on for next time.

And as a side note:
Whahoo! 7 for 7 today!

No freeloaders!

First time for Mikey's cluckers!

Go for it.. There are a lot of hatchers on these threads that can give you lots of help... Will

Quote: Unfortunately that may be the way to go. What do you think of me trying to start up my bator? I know it will still take at least another month to get babies if the eggs are even fertile!

Go for it Puffycheeks. Can't hurt to try.

X2...
Mahonri is running an "Easter Hatch-a-Long" right now, and there are a lot of turkey eggs being set as well as the chicken.. Great read, and lots of helpful information... Will

Don't dismiss it too lightly, Pastrymama.. Read up on it a little, and you may find all your concerns are not that real.. This is a proven technology, and when done propely, is very effective as a natural control.. The chances of a bite and/or rabies is actually so small as to not really be valid.. You stand a bigger risk from all the stray cats and dogs that run loose... Will
