Arizona Chickens

If it is not one thing, it is another with my flock. At least no one else is dying. But now my older chickens are "sneezing" and have "runny noses" that smell like death. Ew! I am trying to figure out just what the hell is wrong with them.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Mikey just went through this not too long ago.

Started a gutter garden with Chicken Salad Mix. Have to get some wheat grass seed. Also will add
some plants (probably silk) to this nest box. A peer from work asked if I wanted it. Of course I grabbed it up.

Your gutter garden looks very interesting! What medium are you using, is it simply soil? Does the water recirculate, or just drip into the gutters? Nice score on the nest boxes too.

That set of symptoms doesn't sound very good at all. I hope you get it under control quickly.

We are using potting soil with a drip system. Saw the gutter gardens on pinterest and thought this would be good for the girls. (This is their grassy area dh made for them) The gutters are not attached so I can rotate them while their seeds grow.

So I have been doing extensive reading (I can't sleep anyway, worried too much about my flock) on my sick birds. They some of them only have two symptoms, sneezing and smelly beak discharge. The one who is the most sick, Angel, has some top beak swelling that is turning purplish. I read that it could be worms. Hmmm....

Also, one of my other sick birds is sneezing and has discharge coming out of her beak, but it has no smell to it...I am confused.
