Arizona Chickens

This isn't much to do with chickens, but there is a chicken in the photo. Today was my grandson's 1st birthday party. Grand-Mama Hen Chris was delegated to make a cake and 4 dozen cupcakes. I autographed the cake by making a little fondant chicken and setting it in the corner. And when Cooper saw his cake, the first thing he did was grab the chicken! Good Boy!! He loves grandma's bok-boks.

My grandaughter was 3 today - cupcake cake (didn't know there was such a think) from Wally-world.

Cute kid!

And is that a giant rice crispie treat to the left?

The lack of top rail on these was Gallo's idea - & a good one at that.

We're trying to encourage them not to fly to the top, perch & then fly over.

I don't know how aesthetically pleasing these are but they're good enough for us.

I hope you don't take offense to what I meant about aesthetically pleasing. You did a good job on yours. I do like it. I was thinking along the lines of black steel around our patio. The baby gates are on the left and right sides of the BBQ. Been looking at Lowe's but not sure I like them. They have spikes ones that the girls could impale themselves or flat tops they can sit on. I am trying to be frugal and get the best deal without spending lots of money. DH is tired of chicken poo all over especially at the patio door. They like to gather there when I go in the house. They think every time I go in the house, I will be bringing out treats. They must be spoiled chickens!

A very happy 3rd birthday to your granddaughter. I have a cupcake cake pan to make a giant cupcake cake. Is this what you are talking about or individual cupcakes as a base with frosting on top to look like a cake?

Not a giant rice krispie but that is a good idea. It is actually a Hydrangea center piece that Cooper's other gma made. She makes great floral centerpieces as she is very talented with flower arranging.

You may wonder why the dogs have party hats on. ?? We celebrated the dogs birthday with Lauren as their birthdays are close together. Gotta have some fun around here!

I was thinking along similar lines although sun screen is a better idea than mine.

I was thinking custom gate / fence pieces that would fit in each of the openings. You'd need a hinged door to pass grub through from the bbq to the dining area though.

Screen is a better idea though.

That was an idea I had as well. GMTA ( great minds think alike) That would be more cost effective for sure. Will have to bring it up to hubby. I usually say to hubby. "I was thinking" and he says "Oh, Now what?" LOL
