Arizona Chickens

Quote: Whats the deal with all of the special vitamins/meds, etc. ? Why would one use this on an individual bird rather than the drinking water stuff? I guess Im really not sure what it is you are talking about.

It was suggested that Flopsy had a vitimine dificiency (hense her name) and that Poly-vi-sol with out iron could correct that

So it seems like it is going to be a tad bit more difficult than:

"Put 3 dozen eggs into this padded box and ship from Switzerland to Mikey's house"

The biggest hitch will be the exporting person needs a country of origin government approved health certificate.

Yeah, a bit more difficult. You should read what AZ BYC member ca went through getting her Sumtaler eggs imported. Here's a taste of it from her website.

The man guy that imported seramas send eggs from all over...he just never lets anyone know that they are eggs. I dont know how many have actually made it but it is alot of money for not alot of chicken Plus the fertiblity goes down after seven days....how long will they be in transit.

I am totally willing to travel to Europe and bring the eggs back in my carry-on bag. Just cover my travel expenses.

Also, it was really great getting to see Nova the other day, and I'm glad that the girls seem to be settling in.

The cockerels I got from Mahonri are some seriously good looking birds. I'm going to process the first one tomorrow, he's an EE who is starting to get hormonal and I don't like how rough and aggressive he is with the girls. Friday, we'll have southern-fried jerkface for dinner . I'm still hoping I can find homes for the three Icelandic boys, I just can't stand the idea of eating something that rare.

You must be eating the red one. He's the largest anyway.... and he was 'trying' to crow.. made us laugh

and the thought of saying goodbye to that little pure white rose combed Icelandic has been hard for me. He used to jump up in my lap and loved to be stroked. Whomever gets him will be very blessed, I just hope he doesn't get eaten.
