OK found the info they mailed me when I had my problem.

It is the Arizona Department of Agriculture
Animal Services Divison

The ADA Livestock and Poultry Disease Hotline is 888-742-5334. It says to call for assistance if you have birds showing suspicious signs of disease. Subject to the availability of funding, the ADA will pay the costs of disease diagnosis for cooperating poultry owner, who report sick birds showing signs suggestive of HPAI or END infection.

It was not Dr. Durham that I worked with. The Vets name was Dr. Noon. He was an assistant maybe?? or could be it the State Vet has changed since I called. It was almost 2 years ago. Anyway Dr. Noons telephone number is 602-316-3873. 1688 W Adams street, Phx, AZ 85007.

OK here is the national info. USDA Veterinary Services Office 1-866-536-7593. That phamplet says "Early detection and reporting is the most importatnt step in eradication a disease outbreak. Don't be afraid of 'crying wolf '. .....There is no charge for USDA veterinarians to work with you to conduct a disease investigation. Early detection and reporting can make a difference. If your birds are sick or dying call."

Still looking for the site that sends calendars and biosecurity publications.

Yes Dr.Durham is new something like 6 months.

hmm, i'm starting to get a little paranoid about my flock now. what is this MG you are talking about?
a few of my birds seem to have runny noses, but no smells of death and no sneezing. i havent been worried because it has been going away on its own. should i worry?

I know a woman here in the Tucson area who has Black Spanish chickens. But her chickens have mites and that scares me. I have no chickens right now. She's been raising chickens for years and grew up with them so she must have encountered the mites before. Would this scare anyone else? I do not want birds infested with mites. What do you think? Would that be the Cara Blancas or the Minorcas? Minorcas have a smaller white face. Does she have an active rooster? Does she sell hatching eggs?

Mites are a small problem. We used to put the dead ashes from the stove in their dust bath. That seemed to control the problem. I am reluctant to use chemicals on my animals. But that is just my feelings on the issue.

It is official. I HATE DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!! A pitbull mix jumped my 6 foot fence and mass murdered my geese and chickens!!!! I am sooo angry!!!!!!!!!! I am so heartbroken!!!!!!!!!! I HATE DOGS!!!! Stupid neighbors!! Why don't they find a pet that doesn't go around murdering other neighbors pets!??!?! Dump the dog, and get something else! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!! My poor cluckers =( None of this would have happened if it wasn't for that stupid mongerel. My poor poor chickens.
