You did it! The coop is BEAUTIFUL!

Me, with too much time on my hands:

Some updated Aloha pictures. Not great, but when they feather out a bit more I will try again.

I think the Aloha chicks are going to be just gorgeous. . . and I am sure you will have the coloring perfected by the time I am in the market for more birds!

50k of members! YEAH! :0

Laree,
The babes are turning out very cute, the leghorn crosses especially. Have you tried to add some silver laced to the lines?
It's unclear to me for what 'type' you are going for. I don't quite get it...

Thanks to SockPuppet & CherrfulHeart.
I went grocery shopping with Apollo in my shirt. HE WAS ON YOUR CANTALOUPES. (no I'm kidding)

We want to emulate the Blommehonne Chicken:
A GREAT Layer
A GOOD Meat bird
A NICE Temperment
HAPPENS to be a looker (no lacing, as that seems to cover up the "mottled" or "MF" patterning, but I dunno?)

The Blommehonne:

There are lots of "showy" breeds out there, but they are either tiny, or crappy layers, or tempermental and flighty,

cap1717 - Nice! Thank you for sharing. Very nice indeed.
Laree - do the chick's mind the photo sessions?
a2ms4chickens - thank you for the Tucson info. Passed on to my DB (dear brother) who wants chickens. They live near Ina and I-10.
redrocketrooster - Tryptophan cream has been known to help with sleep. There are also a variety of herbs. As for me, I turn on an old TV show and let it lull me off. It is frustrating to be sure at times.
Monhonri - hows the family doing?
cap1717 - great. Snakes at the grocery store. Just great. What part of town are you in?

Hi, I am in North Central Phoenix, near Greenway and 16th Street. Laree has been here. If you would like to come see the new chicken digs, I would be happy to have you. It was designed by cousin, an architect, and built by another cousin, engineer. . . I certainly could not have done it myself!

Because they are hanging upside-down you mean? No. Not anymore than the usual squawkng and running around the brooder anytime you try to pick up a chick. If you look closely, the chicks are not hanging, but resting on a nice slope of the DH's man-nary glands (or potbelly). Here's hoping my MIL is not lurking today!

When I turn them upside-down, they either spread their wings (perfect for feather-record pictures) or lay on their back, submissive--and like a penguin.
