Arizona Chickens

Thinking of you today. I know how much BlueBell means to you. Hoping she pulls out of it.
Thank you itsredcandy and John. She does mean a lot to me. Such a sweety. No one has answered my quetion on how long turkeys live. I looked up the fact on the internet and you won't belive all the differant answers! I get anywhere from 2-20 years!
One side made more sence tho. It said that 6 is a good old age and a turkey can live well up to then UNLESS the turkey has had a bad bout with worms or has had an infection in their life. Then more like 3 years.Well BlueBell has had a bad infection a year ago and it tried to come on again in her eye. I was able to cure it but now this. Blue Bell is over 3 I am pretty sure. The heat coming on at this time is not helping. I do mist her down along with the young turklets and hose off the coops ground. The birds in that pen are not panting at all. It has deep shade. My poor old Blue!

Ok I have a proposition for anyone who is interested. I have some silkie babies that I need to downsize on. I was wondering if anyone has any rabbits they are willing to trade for some silkies?. I am interested in california's, new zealands, rex's or any combination of the breeds. I am looking for a breeding pair or younger maybe even two does & a buck that are not related. Or if anyone has some midget turkey eggs they are willing to trade also.

I have many silkie colors available to choose from. Please let me know..
I have a mini rex red does to trade for Silkie Ps my neighbor is a rabbit breeder if you dont find what you need

Hi all. sorry to hear about more sick chickies. That is always sad to me. I nearly lost my "Buffy" several times.
She is now really healthy, big, and strong. All those lap hours, dripping antibiotics and water into her beak paid off.
Except..........that she is now crowing too.
I am officially in for 3 out of 4 of my March babies being Roos!!!!!!!!

I MAY have found a home for them, but I'm having a hard time committing and letting them go.

ANYWAY...........I hope all the sick ones get better.
To the person who dropped the board: I'm so very sorry to hear about your terrible accident. That is so sad.
Hope you, and your birds, can all survive this heat!!!!
Have a wonderful evening, everyone.

Cheers,
Stacy

Hey everyone. I was asked to post some photos so I am trying to do so. They are all coming out REALLY big here. So please forgive. I need to figure out something else. I think I will post all photos to my FB page, make it public, then post a link here. Hope that will work. Anyway, this is "Buffy". He is so handsome. If I find a way to keep a roo, this one would be the one since I put so much time and energy into her/him. (lol) I love the other guys too, but I don't think three would work at all. Even if I can get away w/it w/in the city limits, three would probably fight a lot in our small-ish area. Does anyone know how much roos will fight w/one another in a rather small backyard? Is this usually an issue? I am completely ignorant when it comes to male birds. Thanks for any insight. OK, I'm off to upload some more photos. Back later...........
Have a wonderful evening.

aww babies, My last batch that I let my hen sit on all died because of the extreme heat. Momma hen was such a good mother , she had all those babies tucked under her but sadly it was to hot out and all the babies dies under her what a aweful and sad sight that was. Not letting any of my hens go broody in this heat. all eggs are going to incubation instead.
