I hope you resolve your issues. I've been having my own strange hiccups with the new platform. Whenever I go to preview, the preview shows but my text disappears from the content box so I can't make changes. I have to copy and paste it back or sometimes going back and then forward helps. That and a double post last week. That was a first for me. Nothin' like Mikey's onslaught though!

That was more like a flood!

Hello All. I am brand new to the Forum and have been wanting chickens for about a month now. My wife is adamantly opposed to them, thinking they'll be the grossest, smelliest creatures on Earth. I am hoping to find someone near Peoria, Arizona that is currently raising them and has a good, fairly small setup. I would love to bring her and my girls by so that they can experience it and see they really aren't as bad as she thinks. Any takers? Any recommendations? I decided to post a new message, rather than trying to track down everyone individually. I've found a few in Mesa and Glendale, but feel like contacting them directly is sort of akin to telemarketing... Yuck. Thanks in advance! Scott
Welcome to the AZ thread Demosthine. I'd be happy to have you over, but I'm in Tucson. Chickens are a great endeavor, so don't give up. With persistence I'm sure you can convince your wife eventually. I can honestly say that my dogs are far stinkier than my chickens, if that helps at all. For all of you peeps in his area who may be considering hosting his wife...let's please not mention chicken math at this point in time, OK? We can get into that topic at a much later date.

Quote: A craigslist find. We had to load each one by hand as I couldn't get a pallet jack or forklift under the pallets.

There are almost 10,000 bricks there!

Sitting wall, BBQ island, front porch & walkways.

Wow, by hand! That is a lot of work. I think the loading was probably more work than the setting and building will be. Worth it in the end though, I'm sure.

Excellent advice! If you find yourself in Tucson you can also tour my yard.

DOH! I'm a post slow. That pile a bricks is going to be awesome when they're all laid in place, but boy, what a job!
