Arizona Chickens

did you know metals are anti-bacterial. Copper, silver, steel and stainless are are among the best in killing bacteria. At one time family's, no matter how pure tried to have 1 silver coin, it was put in milk to keep it good longer. Using metals in plumbing and AC systems prevents legionnaire disease, and others. PVC dose not do this, I used a section of cooper in my mister system. I have no idea is it makes any difference in irrigation.

desertmarcy - That sucks about your pipes! I'm impressed that you know how to fix them, good luck!

AZKat - Congratulations! That is wonderful news!

Ladykotadoria - I think all of your "useless" information has been very interesting, keep it coming

Oh yeah you are correct. We keep on hand Colodial silver. & more

Gallo, I am SO very happy that Rocket was found safe and sound. Just wish he could tell you his tales.
Wouldn't that be awesome if he could?

I'm spending the day fixing plumbing leaks. Two of my brass ball valve shut-offs to turkey waterers failed. They were insulated and under cover, but that wasn't enough with this last bad freeze. I'm replacing all the brass fittings with steel, but the steel ones are hard to find, I had to special order from Grainger's last time this happened. I hate those brass fittings. They always crack when it freezes. I have already been to the plumbing hardware store once to get a galvanized plug to replace a plastic one that broke then when I turned the water back on to test it, saw the other valves spewing water everywhere.

Oh no! I hope they don't freeze again tonight. Looks like we have at least one more bad one ahead.

Argyria is when a person ingested to much silver.

to me the data is fuzzy on if it works. I do know ODing doesn't hurt you and on over the counter Colodial, if you fallow instructions will not turn you blue. It can't hurt :D. What else do you keep? Food is in itself Medicean, herbs and teas work. I have forgot what I used to know, I used my home liberty anyway. Don't have it any, more.

Ouch! Good luck with the plumbing. I'm not looking forward to the probable leaks I'll find tomorrow when I turn on the water outside for the first time in days. But I am looking forward to it actually warming up! Would be nice to see the goldfish pond again. It's been under a plastic tent for several days. My max/min thermometer died yesterday so I have no idea how cold it was this morning. All I know is the ice on the chickens' water bowl was thicker this morning than it had been all week. Brrrr...
