Arizona Chickens

That's the reason I breed sexlinked chickens. They are almost foolproof to sex. I hear too many stories like this of people frustrated that one of their "pullet" chicks turns out to be male. If you are lucky, you can tell before you've put too much expensive feed into them. Maybe the sexlinks aren't as interesting as having a backyard of all different breeds of chickens, but they do lay really well.

Okay, now I'm even more scared. All my Australorps already have way bigger combs than that and small wattles too. I will try to post some pics of all my chickens soon so you can all see what I am talking about. Ideal claims a 90% accuracy rate, but it's beginning to look like with my order it was 90% male! I can't get a refund either because they only refund on orders over 25 and I only did 11 plus the extra one they sent which makes 12. I really hope that I don't have to eat the majority of my flock. I have invested so much into these guys waiting for my first eggs...
Send us some pics along with hatch date or age and we'll take a look see....

Well, for all of you folks ending up with roosters, there used to be a good bit of information on caponizing on this web site. I am not sure if it is still up. I saw some youtube videos on the subject, but most of them are in Filipino. But you can get the general idea just watching the videos.

I wish there was a way to tell the sex of the animal while it is still in the egg. Those little rooster eggs could go straight to the bacon grease.

When I was a kid, my parents would have an Italian fellow come over and "fix" the chickens. My mother wouldn't let us watch the process because the guy was a drinker and a notorious dirty talker.

Something artsy because you have a good taste for color.
