I have a couple of girls in those colors, along with a couple others that are gold and grey, really pretty. Just waiting for everyone to get to laying.

I was out weeding the yard today. I found a couple of worms and offered them to the girls. After that, I had constant companions
the rest of the time. They have not given any eggs (almost 6 months old) yet so I told them that they need to start paying back before I dig up any more worms for them. Lets see how that goes.

Awesome! They are only about 7 weeks old so I'm not sure if they're done getting their true colors.

Great, welcome. Flower is east if you in Winslow. I'm in Phoenix area. When I next come up that way maybe we could say hi. But it will a few months.

My have been looking at the clock when the girls start to the coop. It is so interesting. It takes 20-25 min for all to get inside. Then another 10 minutes for everyone to be settled in for the night. There time to go to coop is a little later each day, 30 minutes before sunset. Even when it is cloudy and hard to tell, they know.

A friend of mine and my family called me. He is in ozark area close to were he grow up. I do no know if he qualifies as back yard chickens. He has enough acreage to lease a pasture to his neighbors. He has 8 girls. He told me if when I cook hard oils eggs up about 1/2 cup salt in it. Boil them 20 min, put to one side to cool or shock them is best. He said to him the store eggs are nearly rotting. He gets milk and butter from a neighbor, has two cows a Ju Guernsey and a Jersey. He gets his dairy from her. Both have great butter fat to mate cheese. He is not forced to drink blue milk. But to drink milk with 5% butterfat may be suissideal .... Natural buttermilk, let it septal skim butter.
