Yeah it is... We have recieved a good amount of rain already this year.. I think.. I picked up our boys from school yesterday here in Tempe right as the hil storm hit.. They had a great time running as fast as they could, with their back packs on the top of their heads.. To get to the car. Once they were in we enjoyed the moment... It was raining, hailing & blowing winds with debris.. I found a carport to park in untill the hail passed...

Ok, just in case anyone missed it, my wife and I are hosting a get-together on Sunday, March 10th at my house. We'll have everyone start arriving at around 1600 Hours (04:00pm) and we'll probably have dinner around 1700 Hours (05:00pm). About 1730 Hours (05:30pm), we can light up the beehive fireplace and sit around chatting. We also have a swimming pool, but I think it will be too cold for most people. You're more than welcome to swim if it tickles your fancy. Kids are welcome as well. We have a great playground with a tetherball, too. My 6- and 8-year old daughters will be thrilled with company. We're doing it potluck style, but we'll provide some flounder, tilapia, chicken and pork chops depending on what everyone wants. We'll have a Hawaiian pasta salad as well. The only other thing confirmed so far is cole slaw. Alcohol is welcome, but if you choose to bring your own alcohol, please be mindful it is family oriented and make sure you have a designated driver, too. I've never had a problem with this, but in my line of work, I won't chance it, either. Please message me with a confirmation so I know how many people are coming and what you're bringing. That way, we can have a nice variety. I'll send my address and phone number back as well. Hope to see you all there!!!
There is 4 of us.. I am hoping our two friends for 20 plus years will be attending.. They want chickens... They live in glendale... Closer to you.. You are so gracious to open you home to a BBQ...

I will be there. I have collard greens. I will be bringing some salad greens for anyone to take home. I have one question. I have a service dog, will it be alright to bring him?

After all these weeks of you all hearing my complaining and not so very patiently waiting... I got my first egg!!!! AND GET THIS... I think it was my one and only little silkie hen who is just 20 weeks old. All my other birds that age will lay brown when they start, except for the 1 EE and I think it's too small for the EE.

BUT - you gotta hear the story...

Spent a couple hours outside today, letting everyone have some supervised free-ranging... decided to add another roost to the coop as all these new babies I have will need some roosting space eventually. So, I cleaned out the coop pretty good and added a roost. I scooped up all the old shavings out of the nesting boxes, etc. and THREW it all onto the ground, then KICKED it all around the run to add to the deep litter. Then I walked around to grab my hammer and there by the food dish was a little creamy white egg. It had come out with all the bedding I had thrown out and rolled right there. I have no idea what box it was in, or how long it's even been in there!! I have checked every day and never saw it! I put it in the shavings to see how I would miss it and sure enough, it completely disappeared - it was definitely camouflaged. Now I have to be a little more diligent about looking for the eggs.

It's the creamy one next to the brown store-bought egg.
