Those first eggs are always awesome! Congrats.

Did you see the extended forecast?

We'll be in the low 90's by the end of the week.

I've got the swimming pool ready!

I know, right? forecasted 89˚ here on Thursday/Friday. It's too early for heat.
After 30+ years of living here, I'm itching for some cooler climes. I really like the Bayfield/Durango area. If I get a chance, I'm there.

Alright I have two young cockerels that I am offering here only. They are out of black copper marans stock, but absolutely DO NOT come anywhere close to the SOP. However they would probably make some pretty nice looking olive eggers for you. I will sell them with the understanding that they are in NO WAY shape or form meeting the BCM standard and SHOULD NOT BE USED for breeding BCM. They are supposed to have hatched from eggs #6 or darker.

Boy #1 has only a very small amount of feathering on his shanks

Boy #2 has nicely feathered shanks

Again, I am offering them for sale here only, because I trust that at least most of you would not breed them and try to pass off the chicks as BCM that would meet the standard. They should only be used on a mixed flock and for olive eggs. They were hatched early-mid Dec (I bought them Dec 16 and they were 6-12 days old at that time) If you are interested you can PM me here on BYC. I am on at least once a day.

Decided to take some pictures of the girls that got their feathers plucked. They are all doing just fine and we're finally getting more than one egg every other day. This is down from our regular 4/5 out of 5.

Had an awesome time at the BBQ. Awesome to meet you all city farm, demos & crazychix, and lady kota!
Stacy (son) and Omar (hubby) had an awesome time as well! Sorry about the mess in the toys, I tried to get him to pick it up then Angel came over to play too lol!

Omar had a ton of fun with the chickens, maybe he'll feel better about letting me get some when we move!

PS: sorry if I seemed distant, I have to be pushed into crowds to mingle LOL.

We were so happy everyone was able to make it over for the barbecue last night. It went really well and everyone seemed to have great time. Hopefully those that missed it can make it next time.

QueenRilly, don't worry about the mess and toys. You had one son out of ten kids. I think my family made far more of a mess than yours did! I just hope you're recovering from the panic attacks your son gave you. I always encourage our kids to explore and play rough. It's the best way for them to learn and stay fit. And City Farm's boys took that to heart with the tetherball pole, too! I think the best was when she got in to the game and played him a game!

Yeah, it was a great night!
