Arizona Chickens

I get mine at Home Depot for $25 - I use them to make arches for my berries to grow over, which also creates a cool shade tunnel for the animal and kids. I use them for straight across for my grapes, and of course, they're good for hoop coops.

??? All that link produces here is a 3.5 cu ft Contractor Duty cement mixer and a "shingle hog portable shingle remover." No cattle panels in the search results here. I've never seen a true cattle panel at a Home Depot in Tucson. Maybe northern Arizona stores do carry them. Feed stores carry them here, for $39 and up.

Home Depot does carry remesh panels for $20-$25. They're about 4' x 8' with 6 or 8" openings, but the remesh panels are nowhere near as strong as a true cattle panel. I use them for garden trellises and I hoop them for row cover supports. If I were going to use remesh for a hoop coop, though, I'd buy the 150' rolls. It would be a lot cheaper.

I just thought I'd share a chicken rub that I found on AllRecipes a few years ago that is absolutely phenomenal, especially with Italian dishes like fettucini alfredo. It's Blackened Chicken. I mix it in bulk and store it in a pint mason jar, so I'll post the amounts for 48 servings, for anyone not wanting to deal with the website. Oh, and I bought all of the spices in the bulk section at WinCo for a total of $1.55!

Blackened Chicken Rub
1/4 c. (120g) Paprika
1 T. (10g) Salt
2 T. (52g) Cayenne Pepper
2 T. (48g) Ground Cumin
2 T. (84g) Thyme
1 T. (5g) Ground White Pepper
1 T. (34g) Onion Powder

Hi everyone! One of my Wheaten Ameraucanas is broody. My kids gave her some plastic Easter eggs, and to my surprise my husband told them to take the eggs away. I asked him why, and he said that he wanted her to hatch out eggs and that sitting on plastic eggs wasn't "natural". I started laughing so hard I almost went into labor. (Remember, this is Mr. "I don't want anything to do with YOUR chickens") I guess I'll start collecting eggs for her. :)

If you want some fertile eggs PM us.. We have some :)

Great! I will have to find a winco

We are east of Apache Junction, up against the Superstition Mountains. Just joined today.

No chickens yet; but had quite a few when we lived in Chandler….

The closest WinCo to you seems to be 1235 South Power Road, Mesa 85206. I don't remember where exactly you are, but that's the only one on that side of town. Have you gotten the wheat bran for the mealworms yet? I picked up another four pounds today, at 43c a pound.
