Sorry Mahonri!! I uploaded one pic and before I could post it, DH came in yelling, "first rattle snake of the season!" So I ran out to take pics and help him kill it.

This one was right behind the coop. Dh was inside the coop working on the broody's expansion. He heard it rattle at him and when he looked it was only about 3 feet away. He was inside the fence - thank God!
Dh and brother killed, skinned and gutted the thing which was between 3 1/2 and 4 feet long. Yuk! Brother put it on the bbq. It's all toasty, now. Not really appetizing, though...

Okay, does anyone else think this leghorn has crazy feathers? My last leghorn didn't look like this as she was feathering out. Any guesses what her deal is? Could a hatchery bird be frizzled? Or will her feathers lay down eventually.
