Well we have officially been given the chickens we were chick "sitting". Apparently her landlord said absolutely NO on chickens in the backyard. We have gone from 4 to 8 BYC's. My kids are sooo excited. Not sure why cuz Momma farmer is the one who takes care of them all. I'm excited too. Now we will be getting eggs from 8 chickens. Now to incorporate them into one coop eventually. Husband is already planning and laying out the new coop.
I got mine at Pet Food Depot. It's the only time I have purchased chicks from a feed store. I have the pullet and two red pullets. They said Rhode Island Red, but I'm sure they are Production Reds! They were all suppose to be pullets. Is yours breeder or hatchery stock? I guess I could incubate some eggs when they are old enough, but I'm not sure there'd be a market so sell them.
