Pure Little Miracle passed on about 13:20 today. A good fight, that is still a Miracle. I hope she didn't suffer.

Last hatched Rocket, on the go and inquisitive These two look like they are going to be Blue Marans And these must be Black Copper Marans I would like to hold on to them until Sun to be sure they are thriving...... PM me if interested. I have 2 not seen here Blythe, a blue and Basil, a black copper. The others I'm keeping for sure. I will let Angle go, Lemon Cuckoo Marans, if you understand she started with the abdominal problem. I will be keeping 3, open to trade of 1 week old or so.

Im sorry you lost Miracle. :C The rest look very nice tho! I think the two top are blue and the bottom is black.

Anyone heard of or know of one of those websites where you can post pictures of leaves of various trees/plants and others can comment on what might be going wrong? Run on sentences are so very cool right? Just trying to figure out nutrient def. on my various fruit trees and the internet so far contradicts itself. The easy garden isn't much help either.

Not sure but maybe Valley permaculture alliance ?? Have you heard of AZOMITE? It is not ash from volcanos.. It is amazing.

Not sure but maybe Valley permaculture alliance ?? Have you heard of AZOMITE? It is not ash from volcanos.. It is amazing.

My parents did that Azomite stuff you had mentioned, plus Miracle Grow plus some other stuff the store sold them, and their garden was a huge flop this year. Poor plants, virtually no vegetables. My Mom has been so bummed about it. I told her it's probably a combination of poor soil (too dense and not enough organics), improper watering and a lack of bees for pollination. Another reason for me to have a beehive, but my wife is still opposed to it. We'll see if that changes when she has to start hand-pollinating her garden this upcoming season. I'm bound and determined to get the garden walls set up for her, to keep the clan out!

My first year of my garden I did not really have soil, I had growing medium. {50%] 45-50% sand (concrete sand), [35%] 30-40% sawdust, and [15%] 10-120% Vermiculite. It ran me around $50.00 a month to fertilize it. I do not remember the formular exactly in quality s, (54#) of 16-16-16, gypson, borax, Epsom Salt, 1 bag of micro nutrients. I had to use 56# a month and all the plants were short on calcium. Root plants did not produce as nicely as they could have. I was required to water everyday, keeping soil at hight wet stage on meter, not most. That was a lot of water. I am changing over to the old ways, will cut my firtalizer in two. I always firtalizered every week, then stop a week or so before harvest on crops, except the continues crops. I have been adding soil, compost, pet, and such. It will take a while to change, and the wood sawdust to decompose. The only really nice thing was very few weeds. I figure that no mater what weed seeds would have blown in, so I would have weeds anyway. I use a lot more water during seeding, ofcourse, in AZ the top gives it up quickly. The 2 beds I now have organis in hold more water so once roots develop I will/am cutting back on water. A lot of the instructions are for cold cliements.

To make things worse for me I was given the wrong instructions for several months and was giving them 116# of. fertilizer a month, it didn't hurt them, and I am sure deep down my AZ soil has a lot of commercial fertilizer in it. What they do not use washes away.

You post reminds me of all the factors involved with gardening. In the SW the lack of organics is a really big factor in poor results plus the lack of good clean rain water. But the commercial food producers use regular ground water so you might think that ground water will do. And it does but the rain that we have had UP NORTH sure made a difference. Our climate is more temperate due to the altitude so I will not be able to maintain a winter garden for at least three months and during that time I intend to introduce as much goat, rabbit and horse manure as possible.

About the bees, I have plenty of flowers and see a lot of bees visiting the flowers. But my squash blossoms have not been fertilized and I have lost hope that they will produce despite the blossoms. This is sad. I look forward to learning hand pollination form your wife.

Now that I have AZOMITE I don't use miracle grow.. Although I have a lot of it.. Hand pollinating,? Phwee lots of work..
We have the coolest carpenter bee home hanging in our TIPU tree.. No takers yet.. They like our dried out fire wood instead..

Hand pollenating, I've used Que Tips, and fine paint brushes.... I best you could use feathers.

SUGGESTION FOR THE FAIR, we could go early park on the street, someone with the largest vehicle, we could call and pick us up, pay for 1 car parking. I have a wagon, I use for Ernie, t(here are places that could be unsafe for him). We could become smugglers, put water and sandwiches between bedding. Water being so expensive alone.

We can spelt some fair food that you just can't survive without.
Such as Deep Fried Onion Flowers, or Indian Fry Bread, things we could make at home but don't. Oh, don't forget Turkey Legs... Now that's something non of us ever eat at home. or a wonderful $6.00 hot dog. And low Calorie goodies.... Fudge, sugar candy, and such.....

I think it is Possable to have fun and not eat our way thu the fair grounds.

I'm available any day at any time. Sat. Most people have off from work. Let use know if interested in. Group thing.

my idea of fun IS eating my way thru the fair grounds! hand dipped corn dogs get me everytime. i cant go to the fair without buying them.
