Arizona Chickens

Quote: Gilbert's restrictions aren't bad, it's the HOAs you have to watch out for. My HOA just happens to say that chickens are OK. Gilbert says I can have 25.
I got my kefir grains from a friend years ago and just keep them going.
I also follow Dr. Mercola and agree that sometimes he goes a bit far.
I also follow WAPF some and you might be able to find someone with extra kefir grains closer to you on the WAPF Yahoo group. The East Valley group actually has members all over the valley.

I didn't realize WAPF had a group. I'm not a big Yahoo person, though. In fact, I haven't really used that account since Hotmail really started offering their free EMail. I think their website feels cheap and clunky, like they are on the way to their final Internet Provider resting place, next to AOL. Their "new" logo is the last gasping breath before rigor mortis sets in... :)

Not a softener. Piped into the whole house & garden hose's.. I am so happy.. They seem to be a good business plus huh, wait, now that
you mention it I will look up where they are manufactured.. We do not have to buy a filter or change anything.. It comes with a ten year
guarantee.. It does a back wash every 4 days. The water that is flushed out from the unit goes into our garden & tree's. It is not the same
as a O.R. System. There is a electric charge that breaks the calcium & what not up. There is a better way of explaining it, I am not the one.
That is why when the 30 gallons that gets back washed can go back into the yard, it is safe.. That makes me totally excited..
We do not It have irrigation, so this makes me feel like we are not wasting H2O.. :)
most likely not made by Canature, they specialize in the water softners and sale in combos of filtration systems.the products of today are ten times better at water conservation then in years past. I guess California will have to find something else to outlaw. Any day this inspector wants to show up will be just peachy.

I know this isn't chicken related but thought someone may know....Can you keep bees in Mesa? If so, what are the rules and regulations, lot size restrictions, etc? Anyone know?

gallo, hilarious!

Okay, I know I've been advised against it, but I think I'm going to raise 4-6 cornish crosses in a few weeks. Do any of the Tucson folks know if the feed stores stock CX chicks? Or, does anyone want to go in on an order with me?

I don't know the law but a good friend of mine raises bees in Northern California. He told me he thought we (don't know if he meant the Valley or Arizona) have too big a problem with African-ized bees to consider raising them in our backyard. FWIW.

I posted this in Raising Chicks but in case you guys are just looking here, looky looky what I just found at Goodwill! Am so excited to get the chicks out of my deep master bath where only one person can really look at them at a time and onto the patio where we can hang out with them!!

SCORE!

very nice...If you don't mind me asking what did they charge you for it? You don't have to answer.
