Arizona Chickens

More pic of my Christmas Peeps:

Mama was not very cooperative, before I could snap a picture she was calling and stuffy her peeps under her. I can not figure out how to download Video, she is very dedicated to protecting them. Seeing it for myself you under stand the origins of the Mother hen expressions.

What a Christmas present. I have two 5 toed and 5 dark legs and 1yellow legged.
LKD, the easiest way to load videos is first load them into youtube. Go to youtube.com and start your own page, it's free, then when you have it loaded, copy the "embed" code, then when you want to load here, touch the icon showing the film strip, paste in your embed code, done, easy, peasy.

My friends who live about 1/2 mile from me, smack in the middle of a residential area, not backed to a wash or anything, had a bobcat scale their 6 ft. block wall and attack their dachshund while the wife was home. She scared it away by screaming and whacking it with a stick. The dog survived but was severely injured.

I just set up a you tube account, I still have to do some editing of the account. Do not like my name out there.

I hope this works. No I still haven't it right to show up here. I will try again latter.

Ugh. Chickens are a costly hobby. I was taking pictures of mama chicken and her meatie babies when my little dog walked by. She (mama) screeched like a banshee and attacked my dog. He seemed fine but the next day his face was swollen. It got worse and worse and took him to the vet today. The infection had to be drained and he may have necrosied skin which will require $$$. My poor dog and my poor bank account.

LKD Congratulations on your Christmas peeps!! You never followed up on the conversation with your nephew. Did you attend the family gathering dressed in your finest?

It was very tempting, but I wore what I had out, my my green plaid Saree with the red pallo, and a red blouse. It is a sico blend and one of my favorites. When I got there I ended up cleaning/picking up the court yard after his dog. And then helping him finish cleaning. It is not easy to do in that Saree. They are warren about 1/2" above the ground and it was a full 6 Meters. If I was going to clean I would have warren a simple cotton print, warren above the foot or a little higher. It is a lower cast Saree, or a house dress to us.

When I was living in San Diego, I ware my green simple cotton Saree to the Farmers Market. I was on my way home carrying my bag of Veggys. When a big SUV pulled over and stopped. And a arm came out with money. It was an elaborate dressed in one of the high cast. She was waring all the finery you picture from the movies, her hands were painted with henna. Her driver was less well dressed and only a little good. She said "please, for your dog". I had to take the money. In India begging is against the law, and giving to the poor is a matter of duty and good karma. To save my face, she directed the money to my dog because I refused it at first. Also they were not going to leave until I accepted the gift, and cars were being stopped behind her. She has been in my prays ever sense, what else can I do? I did learn my lesson, in America there are people from all over the world, ware a good Saree in public only.

:hugs The poor baby boy so sorry to hear that, I hope everything heals up well. It's a good thing for me to keep in mind mama chickens... Bad tempered.

Wow.  Nice catch.  What did you do with it?

Gone with a hunter friend to become a nice peice of fur

Must of been hungry? Or feeding her babies? Great photo. How did you capture the photo?

Not sure what you are asking? I took that pic of the bobcat trapped in my live trap. It's fat and sassy from eating my ducks and chickens

You answered right.. At first it looked like it was going under your fence to get to the chickens.. I thought that maybe it was stuck? Now I see
the bottom of the cage.. Duh. :th
