Arizona Chickens

Gallo that looks so great! I'm glad I got to see it before because the after pictures are even more impressive!

I also had my garden destroyed, but by painters. We had to have our house painted and when I interviewed painters the first question I asked was about how they would cover the garden. I went with the painter that took my question seriously even though he charged more. Of course, the guy that came out to talk to me wasn't there when they painted the garden side of the house and when I got home I found paint splatters on Everything in my garden! I had to completely remove all plants and scrape the top layer of soil out. We lost a whole season of beautiful lettuce and greens. The painter reduced his bill quite a bit, but I'd still rather have my garden.
This year's garden was a bust. I don't know what's wrong but I think something(birds?) is eating everything but the garlic and some kale as soon as it sprouts. :(

Oh, that would have made me so mad. I would have to remove myself from the situation until I calmed down. PAINTERS!!

I don't think anything was planted when you were here. I was just getting mobile again after an injury that sidelined me for awhile (which is what delayed the winter garden to start with).

City, as soon as we find someone heading up your direction or from there to here, we'll send the box your way.  It's a bit of a slow method of transport, but it made it's way around the state in just over a year that way!  I go up to the Phoenix area just about every other month, so we could work something out eventually.

Whatever works.. We could host a potluck/B.Y.C. Seed box here.. P.M. Us & if it works with your schedule we can eat, talk chicken, :yesss:
go seed crazy & what not..

Does anyone know of anywhere in the state where I could get a silver penciled or partridge wyandotte chick in the spring. I only want 2 chicks so it looks like ordering from a hatchery is out :(

I have not been keeping up with all the posts here, so not sure if this has been mentioned, but there is a poultry show in Safford (at the Fairgrounds) this coming Saturday. I am entered as are some other of the Arizona folk on here. Come on out and see some nice birds.
